Posted @ 02/13/2013  07:59 AM By Federico Pena

Description:
When performing Export to Excel on the list view, errors are generated if you accidentally enter an incorrect date in a date field (eg less than the year 1900).
When you export data from the portlet where the date is displayed, you cannot open the excel file and Excel reports an error in the following format:
“Problems came up in the following areas during load:

table

This file cannot be opened because of errors”
The following Steps use a specific date attribute, but can occur for any date attribute where the value is less than 1900.
Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Login to Clarity

    1. Create a new project > enter Project Start Date = 01/01/0209

    1. Return to the Project List View – if the Start Date is not a column in the List View ; add it to the layout

    Perform Export to Excel action

Expected Result: When entering dates earlier than 1900, display a message to end-user to indicate dates earlier than 1900 are not supported.
Actual Result: Microsoft Excel cannot handle dates earlier than 1900 and therefore generates the error message.
Solution:
Review all date attribute values and locate the date that has a value prior to 1900. Modify the date and perform the Export to Excel action again.
