As new releases come out, there are always new Tips & Tricks to be shared with the CA PPM community. OOB Jaspersoft configuration for the CA PPM 14.2 release will not run properly as a Windows service, and we have the solution.

Follow these steps to deploy the Jaspersoft Tomcat instance as a Windows Service for CA PPM 14.2

1.  Login as the Tomcat service account (this is a MUST as Jaspersoft uses the user.home to store encryption keys)

2. Go to tomcat_home/bin

3. Run service.bat install

4. Once the service is deployed run tomcatw.exe

5. Go to Java and be sure to set the permsize and maxpermsize variables, otherwise the application will not start.
